Introduction: Post and core is an restorative options on non vital teeth after endodontic treatment. Endodontically treated teeth have higher fracture risk than vital teeth. Post and core materials have mechanical properties like modulus elasticity that effect impact strength of post and core materials. Impact strength defined as the energy required to break material with impact force. This study was aimed to determine the differences between impact strength of prefabricated metal post with glass ionomer modification (Miracle Mix) core build up and composite resin (Multicore) core build up. Methods: Eight obturated mandibular premolars 2 months post extractions were divided into two groups: Group I was given a prefabricated metal post with glass ionomer modification (Miracle Mix) core build up (n = 4); group II was given a prefabricated metal post with composite resin (Multicore) core build up (n = 4). All groups were planted in a rectangular iron block. Furthermore, the impact test was performed using a mini-impact tester (KRY type) until all samples were broken.  Result: The average impact strength of prefabricated metal post with glass ionomer modification (Miracle Mix) core build up was 2539.1 ± 1017.089891 J/mm2, while prefabricated metal post with composite resin (Multicore) core build up was 4141.975 ± 425.95233 J/mm2. Independent sample t-test showed that there were differences in all groups. Conclusion: The impact strength of prefabricated metal post with composite resin (Multicore) core build up was higher than the impact strength of the prefabricated metal post with glass ionomer modification (Miracle Mix) core build up.

<title>Karakteristik Senyawa Kalsium (Ca) Dari Hasil Sintesis Cangkang Kerang Darah (Anadara granosa) Dengan Variasi Suhu Kalsinasi</title>

Latar belakang: (90%) kerusakan tulang disebabkan karena tindakan pencabutan gigi yang tidak mendapat penanganan lebih lanjut. Terapi bone augmentation merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan volume tulang pada kasus bone defect. Bone substitute material memiliki struktur dan sifat yang mirip dengan tulang. Kalsium karbonat (CaCO3) yang diambil dari hasil sintesis cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa). Pada penelitian ini, dikembangkan karakteristik dari CaCO3 untuk digunakan sebagai bone substitute material. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik senyawa kalsium (Ca) dari hasil sintesis cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa) dengan variasi suhu kalsinasi 100°C, 350°C, 700°C, dan 1000°C. Bahan dan Metode: Sampel cangkang kerang darah ditumbuk hingga menjadi serbuk kecil, kemudian yang dibagi menjadi 5 bagian yang digunakan untuk kalsinasi yaitu; Kelompok 1: tanpa kalsinasi, Kelompok 2: 100°C, Kelompok 3: 350°C, Kelompok 4: 700°C, dan Kelompok 5: 1000°C. Untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari masing-masing suhu kalsinasi dibuktikan dengan uji X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) dan Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR). Hasil: Analisis XRD menunjukkan tanpa kalsinasi dan Kelompok 1 memiliki kandungan CaCO3 fasa aragonite dan kelompok 3 mengandung fasa calcite. Setelah kalsinasi CaCO3 terdekomposisi menjadi kalsium oksida (CaO) pada suhu 1000°C. Karakterisasi dengan FTIR menunjukkan dalam sampel sebelum kalsinasi terdapat gugus fungsi O-H, C-H, Ca-O dan CO3. Setelah kalsinasi menunjukkan gugus fungsi O-H, C-H dan Ca-O. Kesimpulan: Cangkang kerang darah dapat dijadikan alternatif pengganti kalsium karbonat sebagai bahan dasar bone substitute material dan dapat disintesis menjadi Hidroksiapatit.

Introduction:The Dental Public Health Warrior (DPHW) project is a social activity which&#13;
provides a creative, fun, and interactive dental health education throughout elementary&#13;
schools in Keputih Area-Surabaya,Indonesia. Purpose: The aim of this study was to&#13;
determine the effectivity of those projects in increasing the Performance Treatment Index of&#13;
elementary school’s student. PTI score used to measure the willingness to treat their teeth.&#13;
Materials and Methods:In this pre experimental study (pretest and posttest only design),&#13;
subjects were 54 elementary students (4th grade) . All subjects were educated by the DPHW&#13;
team and their DMF-t score and PTI score were collected by calibrated dentists before the&#13;
education and in 3 months after the education. Results: The mean of DMF-t score increase&#13;
from 6,7 to 6,9. The mean of PTI score increase from 3,7 to 9,5 . Wilcoxon analysis showed&#13;
there is significant different between before and after education (p= 0,001). Conclusion:. The&#13;
DPHW project can be effectively used to increase the Performance Treatment Index of&#13;
elementary school’s student. The increase of PTI indekx means there is increase in&#13;
willingness to treat their teeth.

Background: Dental implant is a device that is surgically implanted into the soft tissue or into the jaw bone. dental implants have become the treatment of choice for replacing missing teeth. Platelet rich plasma and platelet concentration derived from autologous blood containing autologous growth factors in which the platelet rich plasma can improve wound healing and increase the regeneration of bone. today cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has been available for 3D visualization of craniofacial section. CBCT 3 D is able to provide information on the general bone mineral density. Purpose:  The purpose of this studywas to determine thebone mineral density by three-dimensional radiographic picture after dental implant placementbyan additional plateletrich plasma. Material and Method: This study was divided into 2 groups. The first placement of a dental implant with platelet rich plasma and the second placement of a dental implant without platelet rich plasma. Results: there are significant differences in dental implant placement with platelet rich plasma and placement of dental implants without platelet rich plasma. In the test results obtained Independent T test (p = 0.02). Conclusion: There was an increase bone mineral density in dental implant placement with platelet rich plasma were performed using threedimensional radiographic examination (CBCT).
