dc.description.abstract Abstract Background: Epulis is a generic term that is used to clinically designate all discrete tumors and tumor-like masses of the gingiva. Fibromatous epulis is a hyperplastic reaction of fibrous connective tissue due to chronic stimulation or irritation, such as calculus or sharp parts of the retained root. The mass was pedunculated, pale pink in color, solid consistency, the boundary was firm, and was not easy to bleed with no pain. Objective : Discuss the management of fibromatous epulis by excision Case :A 25-year-old male patient who suffered from unusual unilateral, gingival enlargement in lingual anterior mandible. The masses appeared since a year ago, initially small and gradually grew to the size 3 cm, solid consistency, well-defined, not easy to bleed, and not painful. The patient was diagnosed with fibromatous epulis and chronic periodontitis based on the clinical, histological, and radiographic findings. The mass has been treated by excision. Case Management :The gingival enlargement was treated by conventional gingivectomy under local anaesthesia. The postoperative result was uneventful. Conclusion : The excision of fibromatous epulis was carried out to remove the mass and eliminating the predisposed factor. en_US
