Abstract:
Background. most patients complained about the cost, the methods that they think complicated, even the time they had to provide to get the teeth whitening treatment.
Aim. To evaluate the effectivity of strawberry as teeth whitening, and also to make comparison between pure strawberry and strawberry mixed with baking soda as tooth whitening.
Material and methods. this in vitro experiments using 12 sampel of extracted front maxilla teeth. Prior to experimental use, the teeth were examined for the absence of caries, or other surface defects. The 12 sampels than numerized each consecutively before it begun their first visual assessment of colour stage using the shade guide. Teeth staining using the tea solutions were done after, for 3 days in a row the 12 sampels were put inside a jar contained tea solutions. This way of acting was done to simulate the teeth conditions after tea consuming for several moments. All sampels than having their second visual assessments of colour, this thing was done right after the teeth were out from the jar for 3 days teeth staining. Stand on the aim of this experiment, there are needed 2 groups of treatments to compare one to another, therefore, one dozen of the sampels were than devided into 2 groups, the first group was bleached by rubbing pure smashed strawberry three times a day for 5 days, after having their treatments, all sampels were than soaked in the artificial saliva. As in the first group, the second group were having the same methods of bleaching treatments, yet in this groups, the strawberry were mixed with baking soda. After all those 8 days of treatments, every sampels had their one last visual assessments to make both of the treatments comparison. The statistic analysis was done to compare both of the treatments effectivity. RGB (Red Green Blue) measurements from the adobe photoshop computerized programme were done as the second opinion.
Results. Strawberry and baking soda could produce a whiter teeth, or at least, the shade guide visual assessments revealed that the teeth colour increased maximally one level.
Conclusions. There are no effectivity differences between 2 ingredients used in this experiments.
